June 30-- Jun. 30--While a COVID-19 outbreak at a Jacksonville nursing home drew attention when it made Morgan County's infection rate increase dramatically, it's not the only long-term care facility in the region to have reported an outbreak.
Morgan County Health Department reported June 11 that 47 people associated with Aperion Care Jacksonville tested positive for COVID-19. Two people associated with Aperion Care Jacksonville have died of COVID-19.
As of Monday, a total of 58 people associated with the long-term care facility had tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Morgan County Health Department.
Walker Nursing Home in Virginia has reported 16 infections, as of Friday, and no deaths, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
On Sunday, Cass County Health Department reported six additional COVID-19 cases involving county residents associated with a long-term care facility there and one case involving a long-term care facility employee who lives outside the county. Two people associated with a long-term care facility have died of COVID-19-related deaths in Cass County, according to the department.
Macoupin County also has reported that people associated with two long-term care facilities there have tested positive for COVID-19. Heritage Health has reported four cases and Sunset Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation has reported two cases of COVID-19 among people associated with the facilities.
As of Friday, four long-term care facilities in Sangamon County had reported coronavirus infections in people associated with those facilities. The Villa East nursing home had reported 122 cases and 26 deaths. Centennial Pointe Assisted Living in Springfield reported six cases and one death. Heritage Health in Springfield recorded four cases, and the Springfield location for the Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care has reported six cases.
No long-term care facilities in Pike, Scott, Jersey, Greene, Calhoun, Brown or Schuyler counties has reported cases of COVID-19, according to IDPH.
Illinois has recorded 22,170 cases of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities and 3,772 deaths as of Friday.
